Segmentation. How it can work for your charity?
Would you rather receive the same ‘Dear Friend’ email as 1,000 other people or more personalised communications tailored to suit you and your needs? Your supporters are individuals and want to be treated as such. Segmentation helps you split them into groups so you can target them with relevant content that better suits their interests and is more personal to them.
Segmentation isn’t hard to achieve but the challenge lies in identifying the most effective segments. Group your supporters based on their actions or the content they respond to. You’ll be better able to ensure the right message reaches the right people at the right time. You’ll also see an increase in engagement rates as a result.
